More about Pascal

 

Pascal Pax Andebo, from Uganda is a PhD student and Dean’s Fellow in International Education Policy (IEP), University of Maryland, College Park – the USA (2022-2027). He holds a Bachelor of Arts with Education degree from Makerere University, a Master of Arts degree in Ethics and Development Studies from Uganda Martyrs University, both in Kampala-Uganda. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the European Peace University - EPU (now Austrian Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution (ASPR)), in Stadtschlaining-Austria. He is a teacher, educationist and development and humanitarian researcher and practitioner with experience in Uganda, Somalia, South Sudan, and Kenya. His research has focused on education, especially education in conflict and emergencies, peace education, social justice, environmental education, and governance in Eastern Africa, and the whole continental Africa. His involvement in education in conflicts and emergencies is rooted in personal experiences of refugeehood in the Democratic Republic of Congo as a child that had impact on his own education, and later teaching refugee students and training refugee teachers. His story combines the personal and the professional, as well as the academic.
